Defiance College Citizen Leaders Program
Defiance College’s original service program, Citizen Leaders, is for students ranging in freshmen class level to senior class level. Citizen Leaders complete a minimum of 150 hours of service for each academic year performing service such as tutoring, coaching little league sports, secretarial work at local non-profits, participating in events to fundraise to and create awareness for cancer research, lead church camps, and much more. The Citizen Leaders must attend monthly class meetings on various development stages based upon the Bonner Curriculum. As a result, students will gain a better understanding on the world around them and on themselves.
In order to receive the financial scholarship as a Citizen Leader, high school seniors must submit a service resume and scholarship application and complete a scholarship interview.
