DCCB Cabaret will feature three local musicians

DEFIANCE, Ohio - It’s not too late to reserve a seat for the Defiance College Community Band’s annual Cabaret Concert on Saturday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Weaner Center on the Defiance College campus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and all seats are by reservation. Join us for an evening of music, food and conversation.

The DCCB will feature three outstanding soloists from the Defiance area who have been successful in their musical careers.

Dale Schubert, tuba, served as director of bands in the Oakwood, Defiance and Napoleon city schools. A native of Continental, Schubert completed his bachelor of music degree from The Ohio State University and master of music education degree from VanderCook College in Chicago. He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year in Henry County and taught in the public schools for more than 30 years. He currently resides in Defiance and works with Rettig Music as an educational sales representative and assists with the North Central High School and University of Findlay music programs.

Meghan and Jacob Gobrogge are both graduates of Capital University in Ohio with bachelor degrees in music education. Meghan is a graduate of Defiance High School and Jacob a graduate of Archbold High School locally. Both the Gobrogges are in their second year of teaching - Meghan at Thomas Miller Elementary School and Jacob at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Ind., where they reside. In addition to teaching, Meghan and Jacob love spending time with their puppy Ellie, working with photography, and watching movies.

Music for this concert will include the greats from the concert band literature as well as favorites from the stage and movie screen.
