Regional admissions counselor event hosted at DC campus

DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College recently hosted Articulation, an event organized through the Ohio Association of College Admissions Counseling (OACAC), on campus for the northwest Ohio region. The event takes place every September in alternating locations.

"Articulation is the coming together of admissions representatives and high school counselors to continue to educate and build awareness among one another of the ever-changing world of higher education," explained Brenda Averesch, who is a transfer admissions counselor at Defiance College.

Averesch, along with Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Brad Harsha, were on-site chairs for the event and worked with DC students, faculty, and staff to host the event.

More than 250 counselors and admissions representatives were in attendance. Attendees were provided updates in a variety of areas impacting college admissions and counseling, such as ACT, College Board, and financial aid. They had the opportunity to tour the DC campus and browse a counselor college fair in the afternoon.

"It was an honor to host Articulation at Defiance College for the very first time in our campus history," Averesch said, "We hope those who attended found it to be educating, uplifting, and motivating as we embark together on the upcoming academic year!"
