Federal Direct Parent Plus Loan

Criteria

• Parents of dependent students and graduates may apply for the Parent Plus / Grad Plus Loan
• Repayment and interest begin when the loan is fully disbursed
• Interest rate is fixed at 8.50%
• Credit approval of borrower is required

Complete the application and Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at: https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action


No funds will be disbursed until the MPN has been completed.

In the instance of a loan denial, parents may appeal the denial or the student may borrow additional unsubsidized loans.  The denial letter may be faxed  or emailed to the financial aid office.  Fax to 419-783-2579 or email financialaid@defiance.edu.  Once the denial is received, the additional Unsubsidized Stafford Loan will be processed for the student.
