The major in nursing at Defiance College leading to the BSN is a completion program designed for Associate Degree-prepared nurses or Diploma nurses who have graduated from an accredited nursing program and have current unencumbered RN licensure. Students must also have a GPA of 2.5 or higher to be admitted into the program. Students must complete the required Defiance College general education courses as well as the nursing courses listed below. The program will be offered in a fast-track program with courses being held one day per week to accommodate various working schedules. Some courses may be offered in a blended format using both online and face-to-face classroom instruction. Baccalaureate-prepared nurses have a broad base of knowledge that combines the technical aspects of nursing with the leadership skills necessary to lead in today’s dynamic healthcare environment. Students will gain additional knowledge in the liberal arts and take nursing courses to prepare them for leadership positions.
