Aubrey Kemerer

Name: Aubrey Kemerer

Hometown: Hicksville, Ohio

Major: Double Psychology and Social Work Major

All Activities your involved with: Service Leaders, Defiance Cares Free Clinic, Backpack Buddy, Dance Marathon, Compass, DC Recycling, President Achievement Society, Connections Program, Common Threads, and APO.

What is something you didn't expect about your DC experience? I did not expect DC to have so many different opportunities for their students to become involved in. I also did not expect everyone to be so welcoming to all the new students.

How has DC prepared you for your future? DC has helped me prepare for future by allowing their students to get work experience in their fields before graduating through programs such as Service Leaders and many other programs.

What would you say to high school students considering Defiance College? I would tell them that Defiance College has an endless amount of opportunities for their students. I would also tell them that coming to Defiance College was one of the best decisions I have made, and I hope that they at least look into coming to Defiance.

How has the Service Leadership Program benefited you as a DC student? The Service Leadership Program has benefited me by allowing me to volunteer at organizations that deal with my field of study.

What is something you didn't expect about your DC experience? I didn't expect that I could interact with my professors and they would know me by first name bases.

How has DC prepared you for your future? DC has given me numerous opportunities to work with agencies and groups that I find interesting and are leading me into the career path I enjoy the most

What would you say to high school students considering Defiance College? It's a great place to get a secondary education. Students get a lot of one on one with their teachers. The atmosphere on campus is great. Everyone gets to know each other and Defiance College is a second family.

How has the Service Leadership Program benefited you as a DC student? The Service Leadership Program has benefited me as a student in many different ways; it has allowed me to interact with different members in the community. The Program has allowed me to learn different skills that can be used after I graduate.
