Cassidy Nalepa

Director of Music Programs

 

Cassidy NalepaCassidy Nalepa is the Director of Music Programs at Defiance College where her primary responsibilities include leading and directing the Yellow Jacket Marching Band, DC Community Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Pep Band. Prior to this appointment, she served as Music Education and Admissions Coordinator for Special Music School in New York City and taught for twelve years in the Pennsylvania public school system as a middle school/high school band director.

Ms. Nalepa has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Music Degree in Wind Conducting from West Chester University, and a Master of Science Degree in Arts Administration from Drexel University.

Cassidy Nalepa is an active guest conductor, clinician, and drill designer. Her visual programs for competitive and non-competitive marching bands have consistently received praise as highly effective, creative, and entertaining. In the classroom, she has developed curriculum and taught courses in music theory, music history, music technology, and film music. Ms. Nalepa is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Ohio Music Education Association, the College Band Directors National Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
