Trevor King artwork on display at Defiance College gallery
October 29, 2014
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The latest exhibition in the Defiance College Women's Commission
Art Gallery is entitled “Bliss” by artist Trevor King. The show will be on display
until Dec. 5.
Featuring experimental photography and sculpture, it is insightful and poetic, inviting
an audience to consider the spaces between viewer and artwork, as well as the spaces
between two people.
King holds a BFA from Slippery Rock University and is currently pursuing an MFA at
the University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design, where he was
awarded an International Institute Fellowship to work under esteemed sculptor Antony
Gormley.
King has participated in residencies at Touchstone Center for Crafts and Ox-Bow School
of Art, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. His practice and
research have been conducted both nationally and internationally: from demolition
derby events in southeast Michigan to the Annapurna and Dolpa regions of the Himalayas.
King has artwork in both public and private collections.
The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visitors may enter using
the interior door, accessible through Dana Hall or the Art Center.
