PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
Part-Time Studio Art Faculty
The Defiance College Art & Design program is seeking part-time instructors to teach
Studio Art courses beginning in Fall 2023. Courses include foundational art classes
such as 2D, 3D, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, and Jewelry. Part-time faculty are responsible
for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant
assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely
and helpful feedback.

PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty
pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from
semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction
to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic
assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback. Applicants
must hold a master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant field and professional
or teaching experience is desirable.

TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher
education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student
teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include
early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas),
and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required
to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training
sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master's degree in education and teaching experience in P-12
schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
Head Volleyball Coach
Defiance College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Head Volleyball Coach. The Defiance College Yellow Jackets will officially join the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on July 1, 2024 for competition in the 2024-25 academic year and will become full members of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).
Applicants should possess a strong coaching background as a women’s volleyball coach with demonstrated success as an energetic recruiter. The individual will be responsible for the total operation of the volleyball program under the supervision of the athletic director. Volleyball responsibilities include game/practice management, recruiting, budget management, scheduling, fundraising, development of camps and clinics, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program, including supervision of assistant coaches and student workers. Additional expectations of this position include mentoring of student-athletes and commitment to their academic progress and degree completion; knowledge of and commitment to all NAIA, WHAC, and institutional rules and regulations; game administration duties; and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required (Master’s Degree preferred), previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position. Admissions Receptionist & Campus Visit Coordinator
An immediate opening exists for a Receptionist & Campus Visit Coordinator for the Office of Admissions. The individual will serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and their families, welcoming and assisting all visitors in a friendly, pleasant, and helpful manner. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the campus visit program for prospective students as well as coordinating and administering all clerical and secretarial services for the Office of Admissions. Duties will include answering phones, greeting visitors, scheduling and coordinating campus visits, preparing visit packets/itineraries, data entry, preparing and distributing monthly visit reports, processing mail, etc. The individual will be expected to attend campus-hosted Admissions events, which may at times require evening and/or weekend hours.
The ideal candidate will have a warm, welcoming personality, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external constituents. Must have strong computer skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office, and be able to provide information in a professional manner. A high school diploma is required; an associate’s degree and prior office experience preferred.

Admissions Counselor
Defiance College invites enthusiastic applicants for the position of Admissions Counselor to recruit, advise, and counsel prospective students. Counselors work with immediate high school graduates, international students, veterans, graduate students and those returning to earn a degree. Reporting to the Director of Admissions and International Education, the admissions counselor meets with prospective students and families, travels as a representative of the College at various college fairs and high schools, and articulates the value of a Defiance College and a liberal arts education. Desirable traits in a counselor include attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and knowledge of technology. A willingness to work as part of a team environment is required. This position requires weekend and evening work.

Groundskeeper
Looking to earn a little extra income? We are seeking a groundskeeper to perform activities that result in clean and well-presented campus grounds. Duties will include mowing, trimming, mulching, weeding, spreading fertilizer and weed killer, snow removal, spreading de-icer, collection and removal of trash, picking up debris on campus grounds, and assisting with other general groundskeeping functions. The individual will also provide assistance as assigned in the operation of the physical plant.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Preferred candidates will have experience in the care of facilities and grounds and a basic knowledge of plants and trees. The position is full-time, but individuals interested in part-time may be considered. Audio Visual & Academic Technology Coordinator
Defiance College seeks an individual to coordinate all audio-visual (AV) services, including the setup of AV needs for all classrooms and events on or off campus. Responsibilities will include designing, purchasing, implementing, operating and maintaining all AV equipment. The individual will also act as the first-line support for all classroom technology.
A high school diploma with additional technical training in the use and repair of AV equipment is required; a 2-year degree in a related field is preferred and a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification is desirable. Strong technology and problem-solving skills and the ability to relate well with a variety of individuals are imperative. Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and be able to work a flexible schedule which will include some evenings and weekends.

Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach
Defiance College, located in northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach with a start date of August 1, 2023. The Defiance College Yellow Jackets will officially join the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on July 1, 2024 for competition in the 2024-25 academic year and will become full members of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).
Under the direction of the Head Coach, responsibilities will include coaching, recruiting, fund raising, strength & conditioning, developing annual service/engagement projects for student-athletes, practice planning and preparation, scheduling, assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence to institutional, NAIA, and WHAC policies and procedures.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, have previous coaching and recruiting experience, and possess a valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to candidates with previous collegiate coaching experience and can demonstrate strong communication skills and successful Division III recruiting experience.
