With over a decade of experience in the cybersecurity field, Benjamin Scott is a seasoned professional, specializing in securing critical infrastructure, industrial control systems, and operational technology. He holds a master's degree in cybersecurity and multiple industry certifications, underlining his robust technical skill set and deep knowledge in the field. In his role as a Systems Engineer at Fortinet, focusing on the Ohio Valley Public Sector (SLED), he leverages his expertise to enhance the security posture of state, local, and educational entities. Prior to joining Fortinet, he served as a Senior Solution Architect at Dragos, Inc., where he provided crucial pre- and post-sales support, designed and deployed tailored solutions, and delivered presentations, workshops, and engagements to protect OT/ICS environments from cyber threats.
Benjamin is also a passionate leader and active contributor to the cybersecurity community. As a Cyber Reservist in the Ohio Cyber Reserve and an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at Defiance College, he continues to share his expertise and insights. His contributions to the field have been recognized through several awards, including being named one of The Advocate's 20 Under 40 for 2022, President's Circle Winner for 2021 from Spectrum Enterprise, and receiving the Distinguished Graduate Award in 2023 from Western Governors University.
He is dedicated to safeguarding civilization and creating a more cyber-secure environment, both locally and globally, by collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common security objectives. His mission remains steadfast: to enhance the resilience and safety of our digital world through education, leadership, and technical excellence.
