Dr. Katelyn Hilton, '16
Katelyn Hilton graduated from DC in 2016 with a B.S. in Molecular Biology and Chemistry (Pre-Veterinary). She was on the Softball team and a McMaster scholar. Her favorite memories are meeting her now husband and life-long friends, traveling to Tanzania on a McMaster trip, and many softball trips. Katie is now a Veterinarian for Small Animal Emergency at Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital. She also obtained her Master of Science in Environmental Toxicology from Texas Tech University (2018) and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University (2022).
Dr. Hilton received the USDA Veterinary Services Grant; USDA APHIS Saul T. Wilson, Jr. Scholarship; and the J.P. Hutton Endowed Scholarship. She was a Center of Excellence for Emerging and Zoonotic Animal Disease Summer Scholar. Katie received the Michigan State University Small Animal Clinical Sciences Award and the Merck Academic Excellence Award.
Katie says it is essential to stay connected and support DC in various ways because "Defiance College helped shape our futures, and I think it is important to continue to give back for all the success and memories DC gave each of us."
