DC fraternity plans bench press fundraiser for Susan G. Komen

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Phi Sigma Chi fraternity at Defiance College will sponsor a Bench Press for Breast Cancer fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen organization.

The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, beginning at 12 noon at the George M. Smart Athletic Center. Contestant fee is $5, and contestants can purchase a t-shirt for an additional $5. Non-contestants may purchase shirts for $10.

Male participants will lift 135 pounds, and women will lift 65 pounds. The man and woman to complete the most reps will receive a championship t-shirt.

The event is open to the public for individuals age 16 and older. Persons interested in participating should contact Jordan Dagostaro at jdagostaro001@defiance.edu. Walk-ins are also welcome.
