Defiance College seniors to present their work in art gallery
April 17, 2015
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College Women’s Commission Art Gallery and the Defiance
College Design Department presents the work of Michael Degler and Britny Krill for
their Senior Show “Artmageddon: The End is Near.” With two differing approaches to
their work, Degler and Krill both address salient issues in their lives through painting,
physical collage, and ceramics.
Degler, of Defiance, addresses issues of home and identity in Northwest Ohio through
paintings and physical collages of historically relevant artifacts. His work speaks
to visions of place, past, and finding direction-- whatever that direction may be.
Krill, of Oakwood, uses hand-thrown, glazed pottery to demonstrate how ceramics can
be used as both decorative objects and as a means to engender social interaction.
Work exhibited in the gallery is available for purchase.
A closing reception will be held Saturday, May 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the gallery.
The Women’s Commission Art Gallery is located on the DC campus next to Dana Hall on
Sessions Street. The gallery is open during academic-year business hours, 9 to 6 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, with special hours on Saturday, May 2, for the closing reception.
Please enter using the interior door, accessible through Dana Hall or the Art Center.
Refreshments will be served. The artists will be present to discuss their work.
