April 11, 2018

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Design department at Defiance College is set to present “JINKZ,” featuring the capstone projects of six senior design students from the College. The exhibition will run April 18 through May 1 in the Defiance College Women’s Commission Gallery.

An opening reception will be held Tuesday, April 17, at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

A unifying theme of social awareness and activism is represented throughout all projects. Topics addressed include homelessness, bullying, speech impairment, and sport related concussions. The title “JINKZ” represents the first letter of each student’s name participating in the exhibit.

Graphic design seniors include Jorian Beery from Wadsworth, Ohio; Javone Hilliard from Fishers, Ind.; Nathon Principe from Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Kandee Manson from Paulding, Ohio. Product design seniors include Zoe Smith and Israel Martinez from Defiance, Ohio.

The Women’s Commission Gallery is located on the DC campus in Dana Hall, Sessions Street. The gallery is open during business hours, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday. Please enter using the interior door, accessible through Dana Hall or the Art Center.
