Defiance College, YWCA collaborate on early childhood professional development day

DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College and the YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral are collaborating to offer an early childhood professional development day on Saturday, Oct. 20, on the DC campus.
Titled “Sweetest Saturday Professional Development Day,” the sessions are designed for preschool teachers, paraprofessionals, childcare providers, and pre-service early childhood teachers. Sessions are free, and participants can acquire up to five hours of Ohio-approved hours.
Sessions will include:
- 9 a.m. to 12 noon – Everyday Sensory Play
- 9 a.m. to 12 noon – Emerging from Chaos to Learning in Preschool
- 1 to 3 p.m. – Preschool 101, Play Based Learning
- 1 to 3 p.m. – Incorporating Nature Into Your Dramatic Play
- Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Serrick Campus Center.
Registration can be done online at occrra.org. Registration for each session must be completed by Oct. 18. Training fees are sponsored by ODJFS and YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral.
