Solo & Ensemble Workshop

Each year, Defiance College Music Programs hosts a free Solo & Ensemble Workshop for local high school students. Defiance College Music Programs Staff, as well as other professional area musicians, will be on site to help prepare students for their upcoming competition.

Sample Schedule

• 8:30 - 9:00am Check-in
• 9:00 - 10:30am Private coachings (15 minutes per student)
• 10:30 - 10:45am Break
• 10:45 - 11:45am Masterclass for all participants
• 11:45am - 12:00pm Break
• 12:00 - 1:00pm Recital

Please come back for details for our 2025 workshop. A pianist is provided for individual practice when students aren’t in private lessons, and for the masterclass and recital. Students are welcome to record their lessons, masterclass participation, and recital performance for their own reference and preparation. Students are expected to arrive at the Solo & Ensemble Workshop with their music learned and prepared for coaching.
