PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
Defiance College seeks qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format of classes is generally face to face and content areas of need vary from semester to semester. PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS FOR ART, DESIGN & PHOTOGRAPHY
Defiance College invites expressions of interest in part-time Studio Art, Design, & Photography teaching opportunities for the 2018-2019 academic year. The program consists of both 2D and 3D Design and specific courses include 2D, 3D, Drawing, Special Topics, Professional Practice and Introduction to Photography for majors and non-majors.

TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Defiance College Teacher Education program is seeking part-time Clinical Supervisors for Teacher Education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences in the Fall and Spring, and 15-week Internships in the Spring. Our Licensure areas include Early and Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent and Young Adult (core content areas), and Intervention Specialist Mild-to-Moderate (K-12). Clinical Supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.
Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking applicants for anticipated instructional needs in applied music lessons for guitar, piano, and band and orchestral instruments. Instructors provide 12 lessons and a performance assessment. Candidates must be willing to recruit and build instrumental music studios and potentially small ensembles, based on department needs. Successful candidates are encouraged to develop a private studio from area secondary schools while using the college facilities and marketing. DIRECTOR OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES & LEADERSHIP/HALL DIRECTOR
The Director of Student Activities & Leadership/Hall Director is a member of the student life staff reporting directly to the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement and Director of Intercultural Relations. The Director works with campus initiatives to promote student involvement through coordinating, marketing, and implementing a broad range of student-centered activities, programs. Duties include: develop and implement comprehensive and intentional student programming including social and developmental activities; involvement in student activities functions, including major events such as Welcome Week, Homecoming, and Little Sibs Weekend/Family Weekend; advise and provide training and guidance to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and the Inter-Greek Council; promote and support leadership development programming for student clubs and organizations; coordinate orientation programs; and participate in campus-wide and Student Life initiatives.
The Director will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive, student-centered community within the residential community they supervise which fosters respect, dignity, and collegiality among residential students. As Hall Director, the individual is responsible for directly supervising the resident assistant staff and managing the daily activities and residential programs within their designated area.
This is a full-time, live-in, 12-month position which requires evening and weekend work. The successful candidate must have Bachelor’s degree, preferably in student personnel or a related field, and prior experience in student activities programming, leadership development programming, residence life, and/or Greek Life; Master’s degree strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, positive attitude, and a sense of humor are required. HEAD CHEER AND DANCE COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference located in Northwest Ohio, invites applications for the position of Head Cheer and Dance Coach for a start-up program to begin competition in 2018-2019. Responsibilities will include all duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate cheer and dance program including, but not limited to, recruiting, coaching, budget management, organization of training, practices and competitions, academic monitoring and other duties as assigned.
Candidates must demonstrate significant knowledge of cheer and dance, proven success in coaching cheer and dance at the collegiate or high school level, the ability to recruit, develop and motivate Division III student-athletes, a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, HCAC and institutional rules and regulations, good communication skills, and strong leadership. A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and valid driver’s license are required. CASE MANAGER AND COUNSELING CENTER STAFF CLINICIAN
Defiance College seeks a licensed or license-eligible (Ohio) Case Manager/Staff Clinician to be responsible for providing linking and follow up services to students who are identified as students of concern or who need help identifying necessary campus or community resources. This individual will also serve as a clinician in the Counseling Center and will provide individual and group counseling, assist with crisis response (which may require evening and weekend response), conduct mental health and wellness outreach programs, and provide training and consultation on college student mental health. This is a full-time 10-month (August through May) administrative appointment. The position is grant funded and continued employment will be contingent on performance and grant funding.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field and have valid Ohio counselor, social work, or psychologist licensure or 5 years of licensure in another state (must become licensed in Ohio within six months of appointment). Prior experience working with college students is preferred.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF MUSIC PROGRAMS
An immediate opening exists for an energetic and creative music professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Music Programs. Defiance College Music Programs serve students through a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Music ensembles involve students in cooperative learning environments developing aural, communication, and leadership skills. The department also offers private lessons in voice, band and orchestral instruments, guitar, bass, and percussion.
This position reports to the Director of Music Programs through Student Affairs. The individual will have direct responsibility for conducting, leading, and delivering a variety of choral music performance experiences for students, including the Defiance College Chamber Singers and other choral ensembles. The Assistant Director will also each at least one three-credit hour Music course per academic year and be heavily involved in new student recruitment. Additional responsibilities may include teaching private voice lessons and the development of potential new music ensembles.
The successful candidate for this a full-time, 10-month administrative appointment (August – May each year) must have a Master’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field. The individual must be capable of leading, rehearsing, and conducting individuals and musical ensembles for public performances of music; have enough experience and background in vocal music performance to provide appropriate voice lessons for college students of varying abilities; and have sufficient piano and keyboard skills to rehearse a choir or teach voice lessons, although an accompanist will be available for performances and some rehearsals. The individual must be willing to adjust to a flexible work schedule, which will include some evenings and some weekends and be willing and able to travel on occasion.

HEAD WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, located in Northwest Ohio, invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Defiance College will re-introduce varsity women’s lacrosse to campus with full competition in the NCAA beginning with the 2019-2020 season. Responsibilities include recruiting, team development, budget management, scheduling, fund raising, equipment control, game/practice management, development of a service learning/engagement project for team, mentoring assistant coach and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program. Additional expectations of this position include game administration duties, some departmental and campus committee work/involvement, and other duties as assigned.
Candidates must demonstrate significant knowledge of lacrosse, proven success in coaching lacrosse, the ability to recruit, develop and motivate Division III student-athletes, a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, HCAC, and institutional rules and regulations, good communication skills, and strong leadership. This position requires a bachelor’s degree (masters preferred), a valid driver’s license, and previous collegiate women’s lacrosse coaching and recruiting experience.

The following are two-year Graduate Assistantships and are anticipated to start on
August 1, 2018. Successful candidates must be accepted into the Defiance College graduate
program in Business (MBA) and will be awarded a full graduate school tuition scholarship
covering a maximum of 36 credit hours. Additionally, a tuition waiver of up to 12
credit hours will be applied toward any pre-requisite courses which may be needed
for the MBA program, provided they are taken at Defiance College. Compensation includes
stipend, College-provided housing, and a meal plan on campus when meals are served
to students during the academic year.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT - TENNIS
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for an anticipated opening for a tennis graduate assistant coaching position. The individual will serve as an assistant to the head coach and responsibilities will include recruiting, game preparation, practice organization, scheduling, assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, and other administrative duties as assigned. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have previous tennis playing or coaching experience, be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT - SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR
Serving as a graduate assistant to the Sports Information Director, the individual will assist with coordination of publicity and media relations and promotion of the College’s 20 intercollegiate sports programs. Primary responsibilities will include layout and design of media guides, game-day programs and game note packets; writing press releases; daily maintenance of www.DefianceAthletics.com; keeping statistics and performing other game day tasks; and other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have strong organizational, writing,
and communication skills. Applicants with previous experience in a sports information
department and a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Stat Crew
will receive top consideration. Applicants must be able to adjust to a flexible work
