FACULTY POSITIONS


ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BUSINESS
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business. Responsibilities include a 12-credit per semester teaching load that focuses on a variety of courses that include introductory and advanced courses. Required specialization is finance and economics. Supervision of internships is expected. Defiance College is accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.

The successful candidate must have a completed doctorate in a field pertinent to Business; advanced ABD will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong teaching record, innovative ideas for course development and pedagogy, and a willingness to help students apply their work both inside and outside the classroom in creative ways. Professional experience in the field of finance or economics is desirable.

Professional experience in the field of accounting is desirable.

Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback.

INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking to build an applicant pool for anticipated instructional needs in applied music lessons for:

Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone
Brass: trumpet, french horn, baritone, trombone, tuba
Strings: violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar

Instructors provide 14 lessons and a performance assessment per semester. Instructors will have the potential to build private studios and work with ensembles. The Music Program seeks candidates with an interest in working with students of all skill levels, as well as energy and drive to contribute to growing a small program. Candidates must hold a master's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or other related field. TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time Clinical Supervisors for Teacher Education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student teaching experiences for the Fall and Spring semesters. Our Licensure areas include Early and Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent and Young Adult (core content areas), and Intervention Specialist Mild-to-Moderate (K-12). Clinical Supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.

Requirements include a master's degree in Education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS


CASE MANAGER AND COUNSELING CENTER STAFF CLINICIAN
Defiance College seeks a licensed or license-eligible (Ohio) Case Manager/Staff Clinician to be responsible for providing linking and follow up services to students who are identified as students of concern or who need help identifying necessary campus or community resources. This individual will also serve as a clinician in the Counseling Center and will provide individual and group counseling, assist with crisis response (which may require evening and weekend response), conduct mental health and wellness outreach programs, and provide training and consultation on college student mental health. This is a full-time 10-month (August through May) administrative appointment with an immediate start date. The position is grant funded and continued employment will be contingent on performance and grant funding.

Candidates must have a Master's degree in counseling or a related field and have valid Ohio counselor, social work, or psychologist licensure or 5 years of licensure in another state (must become licensed in Ohio within six months of appointment). Prior experience working with college students is preferred.

HEAD MEN'S & WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK & FIELD COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, seeks an individual to serve as head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. The individual will be responsible for providing organization and leadership for all phases of the programs under the direction of the Athletic Director.

Responsibilities include recruiting, meet scheduling and preparation, practice organization, fundraising, budget preparation and management, equipment control, mentoring of student-athletes and assistant coaches, developing an annual service/engagement project for student-athletes, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program. Additional expectations of this position may include some departmental and campus committee work/involvement. Candidates must be able to develop and motivate Division III student-athletes; have a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations; good communication skills; and strong leadership skills.

This position requires a bachelor's degree (masters preferred), a valid driver's license, and previous coaching and recruiting experience, preferably as a collegiate head coach. Applicants should possess a strong coaching background with demonstrated success as an energetic recruiter and positive role model for student athletes. CONFERENCES AND EVENTS COORDINATOR
Defiance College is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual for the position of Conferences & Events Coordinator. The individual will be responsible for the scheduling and physical set-up of College facilities and will also coordinate and manage logistical support and services for all external and all non-athletic internal events and activities from initial planning through event conclusion.

Duties will include event setup and tear down; moving tables and chairs; coordinating custodial and maintenance services; acting as liaison for any catering and audio/visual needs; ensuring proper appearance of facilities and equipment; and welcoming and assisting guests for external events. The individual will have supervisory responsibility for student employees.

Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and familiarity with MS Office. Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment, move freely, and stand for long periods of time; take charge of and manage multiple tasks; and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree and related professional experience is desirable. DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID
Defiance College has an immediate opening for a Director of Financial Aid to direct all aspects of the financial aid office. The Director is an integral part of the Enrollment Management team. Responsibilities include ensuring that all financial aid processes are administered in compliance with state, federal, and private fund regulations; administration of all student financial aid assistance programs; processing of required reports; supervision; and student advising and counseling.

Must hold bachelor's degree (master's preferred). The ideal candidate will five to ten years of progressively responsible experience in higher education financial aid. Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; a high level of technological proficiency; familiarity with automated information systems; and the ability to respond professionally in sensitive situations.

COORDINATOR OF ADULT AND GRADUATE ADMISSIONS
An immediate opening exists for an individual to represent Defiance College to a variety of internal and external populations with the intent of recruiting adult learners and graduate students, giving primary attention to graduate and adult completion program enrollment. The individual will manage applications and serve as the main point of contact for prospective students in these programs. Responsibilities will include completing transfer evaluations, building relationships with businesses and schools, designing and implementing effective recruitment programs, interviewing and counseling prospective students and parents regarding educational and financial opportunities, and assisting with other Admissions-related events.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to work some evenings and weekends.
