PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
Defiance College seeks qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format of classes is generally face to face and content areas of need vary from semester to semester. TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Defiance College Teacher Education program is seeking part-time Clinical Supervisors for Teacher Education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences in the Fall and Spring, and 15-week Internships in the Spring. Our Licensure areas include Early and Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent and Young Adult (core content areas), and Intervention Specialist Mild-to-Moderate (K-12). Clinical Supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.
Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking applicants for anticipated instructional needs in applied music lessons for guitar, piano, and band and orchestral instruments. Instructors provide 12 lessons and a performance assessment. Candidates must be willing to recruit and build instrumental music studios and potentially small ensembles, based on department needs. Successful candidates are encouraged to develop a private studio from area secondary schools while using the college facilities and marketing. Defiance College Music Programs serves students through a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Music ensembles involve students in cooperative learning environments developing aural, communication, and leadership skills. ASD AFFINITY PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Seeking a Coordinator of the ASD Affinity Program to provide oversight to all aspects of the program. The ASD Affinity Program offers comprehensive services supporting college students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) enrolled at Defiance College.
Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Director of the Hench Autism Studies Program, responsibilities include: providing direct supervision and training for the peer interventionists; recording and analyzing program participant data and designing or implementing appropriate interventions; developing and teaching non-credit bearing workshops for ASD students; communicating with ASD students and parents as appropriate; and coordinating all aspects of the Hench Summer Program, a week-long day camp designed to provide social opportunities for local teens/young adults with ASD. The individual will also assist in the evaluation of admission applications for prospective program participants, coordinate internships for ASD students, and assist with airport transportation as necessary during semester break periods.
The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in human services, education, social work, sociology or a related field. Experience coordinating programs with college students, working with individuals with ASD, and experience training and supervising students and/or staff is desirable. Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred. This is a full-time position with a work schedule equivalent to 11 months.

ASSISTANT MEN’S SOCCER COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the HCAC, seeks an Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. Under the direction of the Head Coach, responsibilities will include coaching, recruiting, fund raising, strength & conditioning, developing annual service/engagement projects for student-athletes, practice planning and preparation, scheduling, assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence to institutional, Heartland Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures. A bachelor’s degree, previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, and a valid driver’s license are required; master’s degree preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in working with goalkeepers, possess USC/USSF coaching licensure and have successful Division III recruiting experience.

ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY AND ONLINE LEARNING COORDINATOR
Seeking an individual to manage and support the campus-wide academic learning management system (Moodle). Responsibilities will include providing instruction on the use of Moodle, end-user support, statistical data reporting, etc.; conducting training for faculty on using technology in the classroom (laptops, Chromebooks, Smart Boards, etc.); and supporting the College’s online learning as an instructional designer. The individual will also coordinate the use of the campus testing center for external constituents, which will include required Saturday testing once per month.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an education or technology related field and 2-3 years’ experience using or training others in learning management systems such as Moodle, Blackboard, Sakai, etc. is required. Strong technology and problem-solving skills, knowledge of the pedagogical use of technology, and the ability to relate well with a variety of individuals are imperative. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Defiance College has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time 11-month position (August-June) but will require approximately 20 hours per week during June and July this first year. Reporting to the Registrar, the individual will provide administrative support for the Registrar and for externally-accredited academic programs.
Responsibilities include preparing and managing correspondence and reports, implementing and maintaining office systems and databases, organizing and maintaining records for accreditation, taking meeting minutes, providing organizational and logistical support for events and activities, providing customer service support to the Registrar’s Office, and other support duties as assigned. The individual must be able to maintain thorough and accurate records; work cooperatively with a diverse group of individuals; and possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MSOffice and the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask critical to the position. High school diploma required; Associate degree and office experience are preferred.

ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) located in northwest Ohio, seeks an Assistant Football Coach with a strong background in strength and conditioning. The individual will assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and development and will support the planning and directing of all functions of the football program. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to strength & conditioning, overall student-athlete instruction, coaching, recruiting and on-campus visit planning, game and practice planning, budget management, fundraising and student-athlete performance.

A bachelor’s degree, previous coaching experience, and a valid driver’s license are required; master’s degree preferred. Immediate opening exists for an individual to represent Defiance College assisting in all aspects of recruitment of new students. HEAD WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, located in Northwest Ohio, invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Defiance College will re-introduce varsity women’s lacrosse to campus with full competition in the NCAA beginning with the 2019-2020 season. Responsibilities include recruiting, team development, budget management, scheduling, fund raising, equipment control, game/practice management, development of a service learning/engagement project for team, mentoring assistant coach and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program. Additional expectations of this position include game administration duties, some departmental and campus committee work/involvement, and other duties as assigned.
Candidates must demonstrate significant knowledge of lacrosse, proven success in coaching lacrosse, the ability to recruit, develop and motivate Division III student-athletes, a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, HCAC, and institutional rules and regulations, good communication skills, and strong leadership. This position requires a bachelor’s degree (masters preferred), a valid driver’s license, and previous collegiate women’s lacrosse coaching and recruiting experience.

DIRECTOR OF eSPORTS AND HEAD COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for a Director of eSports & Head Coach. The individual will be responsible for the total operation of the eSports program including, but not limited to: recruiting, retention, managing the team, budget management, scheduling, fund raising, equipment control and monitoring of the eSports gaming room, game/practice management, player strategy development, development of a service learning/engagement project for student-athletes, academic monitoring, developing staffing models for assistant coach(es) and mentoring appropriately. Additional expectations of this position may include game administration duties, and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred). Applicants shall demonstrate competence and effectiveness in:
- Knowledge of eSports industry
- Competitive eSports experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and experience in at least one of the following games: League of Legends, Overwatch, and Hearthstone
- Recruiting students that can be successful academically, socially, and as members of the eSports program
- Knowledge of and commitment to all institutional and eSports governing bodies rules and regulations including, but not limited to NACE philosophy, eligibility, sport playing season, etc
- Leadership and professionalism in managing a program with multiple constituencies

The following are two-year Graduate Assistantships and are anticipated to start on
August 1, 2018. Successful candidates must be accepted into the Defiance College graduate
program in Business (MBA) and will be awarded a full graduate school tuition scholarship
covering a maximum of 36 credit hours. Additionally, a tuition waiver of up to 12
credit hours will be applied toward any pre-requisite courses which may be needed
for the MBA program, provided they are taken at Defiance College. Compensation includes
stipend, College-provided housing, and a meal plan on campus when meals are served
to students during the academic year.

The individual will serve as an assistant to the head coach and responsibilities will include recruiting, game preparation, practice organization, scheduling, assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, and other administrative duties as assigned. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have previous tennis playing or coaching experience, be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT - SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR
Serving as a graduate assistant to the Sports Information Director, the individual will assist with coordination of publicity and media relations and promotion of the College’s 20 intercollegiate sports programs. Primary responsibilities will include layout and design of media guides, game-day programs and game note packets; writing press releases; daily maintenance of www.DefianceAthletics.com; keeping statistics and performing other game day tasks; and other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have strong organizational, writing,
and communication skills. Applicants with previous experience in a sports information
department and a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Stat Crew
will receive top consideration. Applicants must be able to adjust to a flexible work
