FACULTY POSITIONS
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR BIOLOGY
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a qualified candidate to
fill a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Biology to commence Fall 2021.
Teaching responsibilities include introductory level courses in Biology and in the
applicant's area of expertise. Candidates that have experience teaching field ecology,
botany, and zoology are desirable. The successful candidate must be a committed educator
with previous teaching experience in higher education with evidence of effectiveness
at the introductory level; the desire to develop an undergraduate research program;
and the ability to be enthusiastic about working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary
environment. Familiarity with new technology and a willingness to incorporate technology
into the classroom and laboratory are strongly desired. The successful candidate must
also be open to incorporating diverse teaching strategies into the classroom that
will enhance student success. Ph.D. required but advanced ABD will be considered.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track
Assistant Professor of Accounting. Responsibilities include a 12-credit per semester
teaching load that focuses on a variety of courses that include introductory and advanced
courses. The successful candidate will be the lead professor for the accounting major.
Supervision of internships is expected. Defiance College is accredited by the International
Accreditation Council for Business Education.
The successful candidate must have completed a master's degree in either accounting
or business. Doctorate in accounting or business preferred. A CPA licensure is required.
ABD will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong teaching
record, innovative ideas for course development and pedagogy, and a willingness to
help students apply their work both inside and outside the classroom in creative ways.
Professional experience in the field of accounting is desirable. Review of applications

PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty
pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from
semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction
to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic
assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback. Applicants
must hold a master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in relevant field and professional or
teaching experience desirable.
INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking to build an applicant pool for anticipated instructional
needs in applied music lessons for:
Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone
Brass: trumpet, french horn, baritone, trombone, tuba
Strings: violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar
Instructors provide 14 lessons and a performance assessment per semester. Instructors
will have the potential to build private studios and work with ensembles. The Music
Program seeks candidates with an interest in working with students of all skill levels,
as well as energy and drive to contribute to growing a small program. Candidates must
hold a master's degree in music education, music performance, or other related field.

TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher
education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student
teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include
early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas),
and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required
to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training
sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master's degree in education and teaching experience in P-12
schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
HEAD CHEER AND DANCE COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference located in Northwest Ohio, invites applications for the position
of Head Cheer and Dance Coach. Responsibilities will include all duties normally associated
with being the head coach of an intercollegiate cheer and dance program including,
but not limited to, recruiting, coaching, budget management, organization of training,
practices and competitions, academic monitoring and other duties as assigned.
Candidates must demonstrate significant knowledge of cheer and dance, possess stunting
certifications, proven success in coaching cheer and dance at the collegiate or high
school level, the ability to recruit, develop and motivate Division III student-athletes,
a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, knowledge of and
commitment to all NCAA, HCAC and institutional rules and regulations, good communication
skills, and strong leadership.
A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and valid driver's license are required.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR ATHLETICS
Defiance College seeks an individual to provide primary administrative support to
the Director of Athletics as well as support other athletic staff and coaches. This
is a full-time, 11-month position. Responsibilities include contract preparation,
database maintenance, coordinating mailings and banquets, processing financial transactions,
providing organizational and logistical support for events and activities, and other
support tasks involved in the administration of the athletic department. The individual
will also be responsible for coordinating all aspects of tickets sales for home football
and basketball games.
The individual must be able to maintain thorough and accurate records; be proficient
with MS Office and Google Drive; work cooperatively with a diverse group of individuals;
possess excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management
skills; be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; and be willing to work a flexible
schedule. Must be an energetic self-starter who can work well independently and as
a member of a team. A High School diploma and previous office experience is required;
Associate degree and previous work experience in an athletic department is preferred.

ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the HCAC, seeks applications
for an individual to serve as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for an anticipated
opening in August 2021. Under the direction of the Head Coach, responsibilities will
include coaching, recruiting, fund raising, strength & conditioning, developing annual
service/engagement projects for student-athletes, practice planning and preparation,
scheduling, assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation,
academic monitoring, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also
be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence
to institutional, Heartland Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.
A bachelor's degree, previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, and a
valid driver's license are required; master's degree preferred. Preference will be
given to candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills and successful
Division III recruiting experience.

HEAD MEN'S BASKETBALL COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference, located in Northwest Ohio seeks qualified applicants for a Head
Men's Basketball Coach of a successful program. The individual will be responsible
for the total operation of the men's basketball program under the direction of the
Athletic Director. Responsibilities include managing the team, recruiting, budget
management, scheduling, fund raising, equipment control, game/practice management,
development of a service learning/engagement project for team, mentoring assistant
coach and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate
program. Additional expectations of this position may include game administration
duties, and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement. Candidates must
be able to develop and motivate Division III student-athletes; have a strong commitment
to the academic success of student-athletes; knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA,
conference, and institutional rules and regulations; good communication skills; and
strong leadership skills.
This position requires a bachelor's degree (masters preferred), a valid driver's license,
and previous men's basketball coaching and recruiting experience, preferably as a
head coach at the collegiate level. This is a full-time, 10-month position (August

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, TITLE III GRANT PROJECT
Defiance College invites applications for an Administrative Assistant for the Title
III Grant Project. Reporting to the Title III Project Director, the administrative
assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Project Director and
Activity Leaders of a federal Title III grant. Responsibilities will include coordinating,
monitoring, and providing support for the implementation of project tasks; managing
and monitoring the grant budget and ensuring compliance with grant regulations; maintaining
appropriate records and preparing various reports; and other administrative and grant-related
duties.
A high school diploma and prior experience as an administrative assistant is required;
experience in project management and higher education is desirable. Applicants must
be proficient in MS Office, have excellent communication and organizational skills;
be attentive to detail and able to maintain accurate records; and demonstrate a high
level of teamwork/cooperation, initiative, and customer service.
This full-time, 12-month position is being funded through a 5-year grant. Continued
employment for the successful candidate will be contingent on performance and continued
