Teacher Education Field Supervisors

The Defiance College Education program is seeking practicum and clinical supervisors to supervise and observe teacher education students participating in field experiences. Areas of need include science, social studies, mathematics, and language arts at the middle childhood and secondary levels and mild-to-moderate special education. This job requires site visits during normal school hours and may include attendance at some Wednesday evening meetings.

Requirements include a master’s degree in education and teaching experience in a K-12 educational environment; current teaching licensure is preferred. Part-Time Instructor – Biology Lab

Defiance College is seeking candidates for the position of a part-time Biology Faculty for Fall 2014. This position involves oversight of the Introductory General Biology labs. This position also reviews, evaluates and recommends student learning materials, and evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals. Director of Career Development

Defiance College seeks a Director of Career Development. The individual will be responsible for the overall direction, leadership and strategic vision for the Career Development Office. Specific duties include assisting and counseling students in all facets of career development; cultivating and developing relationships with employers; and managing a four-year, developmentally-appropriate career and professional development program that supports a Personal Success Plan for every student. Requirements include a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel or related field (Bachelor’s considered) and 3-5 years’ experience in Career Services or a related field. Assistant Director of Student Accounts

Defiance College seeks an Assistant Director of Student Accounts. The individual will be responsible for the billing and collection of student accounts and maintaining student financial records. Duties include recording student charges, arranging and recording payments on accounts, placing accounts with collection agencies, assisting with monthly and year-end reconciling activities, and administering various loan programs, including Federal Perkins Loans. A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or an Associate’s degree with demonstrated relevant experience. Strong aptitude for basic mathematical calculations and high level computer competency skills are necessary for success; previous experience with customer service desirable. Admission Counselor

An immediate opening exists for an individual to represent Defiance College assisting in all aspects of recruitment of new students. Must be willing to travel an assigned territory developing relationships with secondary school counselors, attend college fairs, and participate in other admission-related events and activities which at times may require evening and weekend work. Will be responsible for interviewing and counseling prospective students and parents regarding educational and financial opportunities and providing additional applicant and prospective student follow-up activities. Bachelor’s degree required; two to three years of experience in admissions, marketing, sales, or higher education desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well with a variety of individuals are imperative.

Assistant Director of Marketing

Put your creative, communication, and writing skills to work! Defiance College seeks an Assistant Director of Marketing to provide a vast array of marketing functions in support of a comprehensive college-wide marketing plan. Responsibilities include creative and news writing and editorial support; production support for a vast array of marketing materials; assisting with the creation and content management of the College’s web and social media sites; and performing a variety of operational support activities.   Bachelor degree in communications, marketing, or related field required; 2-3 years’ work experience with writing, proofreading, and editing is preferred. Superb writing skills, creative thinking skills, and in-depth knowledge of various computer programs, systems, and web tools is required; experience using social media in a professional setting is desirable. Candidates may be asked to participate in a writing exercise.
