PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback.
Applicants must hold a master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in relevant field and professional
or teaching experience desirable. Frequent areas of need include:

INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking to build an applicant pool for anticipated instructional needs in applied music lessons for:
Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone
Brass: trumpet, french horn, baritone, trombone, tuba
Strings: violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar
Instructors provide 14 lessons and a performance assessment per semester. Instructors will have the potential to build private studios and work with ensembles. The Music Program seeks candidates with an interest in working with students of all skill levels, as well as energy and drive to contribute to growing a small program. Candidates must hold a master's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or other related field. TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time Clinical Supervisors for Teacher Education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student teaching experiences for the Fall and Spring semesters. Our Licensure areas include Early and Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent and Young Adult (core content areas), and Intervention Specialist Mild-to-Moderate (K-12). Clinical Supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master's degree in Education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. HEAD MEN'S & WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTY/TRACK & FIELD COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, seeks an individual to serve as head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. The individual will be responsible for providing organization and leadership for all phases of the programs under the direction of the Athletic Director.
Responsibilities include recruiting, meet scheduling and preparation, practice organization, fundraising, budget preparation and management, equipment control, mentoring of student-athletes and assistant coaches, developing an annual service/engagement project for student-athletes, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program. Additional expectations of this position may include some departmental and campus committee work/involvement. Candidates must be able to develop and motivate Division III student-athletes; have a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations; good communication skills; and strong leadership skills.
This position requires a bachelor's degree (masters preferred), a valid driver's license, and previous coaching and recruiting experience, preferably as a collegiate head coach. Applicants should possess a strong soccer coaching background with demonstrated success as an energetic recruiter and positive role model for student athletes. SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III member of the HCAC, seeks qualified applicants for a Sports Information Director. This full-time, 12-month administrative position will report to the Athletic Director and work closely with the Office of Public Relations and Marketing. The SID is responsible for creating and executing strategies to increase the visibility of student-athletes, coaches, and all 21 athletic programs. Responsibilities include: coordination of media/public relation efforts; assisting with the webcast of home events; maintenance of the athletics website; creating and developing press releases, game notes for media, media guides, game programs, sports schedules, and other athletic department printed material; gathering, maintaining, and posting NCAA required statistics; game management duties specific to the SID such as staffing for all home events; supervise and mentor sports information graduate assistants; and other duties associated with being the SID.
This position requires a bachelor's degree (masters preferred) in journalism, communication, public relations, sport management or a related field. Candidates must have excellent written (in AP style) and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in an intercollegiate sports information department. Candidates should have working knowledge of athletic statistics (prefer prior use of StatCrew software), Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and have basic website content experience. Candidates should have the ability to create and edit highlight videos as well as have experience with social media and live streaming.

AUDIO VISUAL & ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR
Defiance College seeks an individual to coordinate all audio-visual (AV) services, including the setup of AV needs for all classrooms and events on or off campus. Responsibilities will include designing, purchasing, implementing, operating, and maintaining all AV equipment. The individual will also act as the first-line support for all classroom technology.
A high school diploma with additional technical training in the use and repair of AV equipment is required; a 2-year degree in a related field is preferred and a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification is desirable. Strong technology and problem-solving skills and the ability to relate well with a variety of individuals are imperative. Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and be able to work a flexible schedule which will include some evenings and weekends. This pay range for this full-time position is $16.50-$17.50 per hour.
