FACULTY POSITIONS
Assistant or Associate Professor of Environmental Science
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a qualified candidate for
a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Environmental Science at the rank of
assistant or associate professor. The appointment will commence Fall 2025. This position
is a 12-month appointment that includes directing Defiance College’s water quality
testing lab and partnership with the City of Defiance, better known as Defiance Alliance.
The laboratory boasts over $175,000 in facility updates and equipment purchases to
assist in water quality research, and has been supported by a freshwater research
technician since 2022.
Teaching responsibilities include courses at the introductory level including environmental
science and in the applicant’s area of expertise. The successful candidate must be a committed educator with previous experience teaching
in higher education, with evidence of effectiveness at the introductory level; the
desire to develop an undergraduate research program; and an ability to be enthusiastic
about working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. Additional duties
of faculty include: advising, committee work and service to the campus and community
as appropriate.
A Ph.D. in environmental science, ecology, environmental biology, environmental chemistry
or environmental geology with water quality research experience is required; advanced
ABD will be considered. Appointment of rank commensurate with experience.

PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
Part-Time Instructors
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty
pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from
semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction
to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic
assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback. Applicants
must hold a master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant field and professional
or teaching experience is desirable.

Teacher Education Clinical Supervisors
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher
education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student
teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include
early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas),
and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required
to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training
sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master's degree in education and teaching experience in P-12
schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
Assistant Football Coach – Seasonal Position
Defiance College, an NAIA institution and member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic
Conference (WHAC), seeks an Assistant Football Coach for the Fall 2025 season. The
individual will assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and
development and will support the planning and directing of all functions of the football
program. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to recruiting, coaching,
special teams, strength & conditioning, equipment, film, overall student-athlete instruction,
game and practice planning, fundraising and student-athlete performance. The successful
candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College,
as well as adherence to institutional, NAIA, and WHAC policies and procedures.
Previous experience coaching/playing at the college or high school level and a valid
driver’s license are required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Preference will be given
to candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills, recruiting experience,

Audio Visual & Academic Technology Coordinator
Defiance College seeks a skilled and reliable Audio Visual & Academic Technology Coordinator
to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV and academic technology across
our campus. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality experiences for classes,
meetings, and events. Key responsibilities will include:
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot AV systems in classrooms and event spaces
• Set up, videotape, and live-stream campus events, lectures, and presentations
• Assist faculty and staff with academic technology tools and platforms
• Provide training and support for the use of classroom and instructional technologies
• Coordinate with IT and facilities teams to support instructional technology needs
A high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience in AV support or a related
technical field. The individual must have familiarity with classroom technology, video
conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Teams, and have strong communication and problem-solving
skills. Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and be able to work a flexible
schedule which will include some evenings and weekends.

Graduate Assistant - Men's Soccer
Defiance College, an NAIA institution and member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic
Conference (WHAC) located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for a graduate
assistant soccer coaching position. Responsibilities include serving as the primary
assistant to the head coach; recruiting; game preparation; practice organization;
fundraising; scheduling; assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring
and evaluation; academic monitoring; and other administrative duties as assigned.
This is a two-year assistantship with a start date of August 1, 2025. The successful
candidate must be accepted into the Defiance College graduate program in Education
(MAE) or Business (MBA) and will be awarded a full graduate school tuition scholarship
covering a maximum of 36 credit hours. Applicants pursuing a graduate degree in Education
must hold a teaching license to be eligible for the Defiance College MAE program.
Compensation includes a monthly stipend, college-provided housing, and a meal plan
on campus when meals are served to students during the academic year. Applicants must
hold a bachelor’s degree, have previous Collegiate soccer playing or coaching experience,
possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.
