Digital Forensic Science Tenure Track Faculty Position

Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a Digital Forensic Science faculty member. Responsibilities for this full-time, tenure-track position include a 24-credit per year teaching load involving undergraduate courses in digital forensic science; academic advising; curriculum development; committee work; and service to the college and the wider community. DFS faculty routinely interact with law enforcement and private sector digital forensic practitioners to develop and share best practices for the forensic examination of emerging technologies.

The successful candidate must have a master’s or doctoral degree in information technology, digital forensics, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information assurance, or related field. Rank is commensurate with education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with significant digital forensics or cybersecurity work experience, teaching experience, or a law enforcement background.

Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Forensic Science

Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of Chemistry with extensive background in forensic science. The successful candidate will have extensive background in forensic science and be able to provide instruction in general chemistry, analytical chemistry, forensic chemistry, and a non-major science course. Responsibilities include a 24-credit teaching load; academic advising; curriculum development; instrument maintenance; committee work; and service to the college. The individual will have the responsibility of refining, overseeing and growing the forensic science program.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or be ABD. Rank is Assistant Professor for a completed doctorate and Instructor for ABD and less than three years of college teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral, industrial experience and/or forensic laboratory experience. The desired start date is Fall 2015 but a Spring 2016 start date would also be considered.

Part-Time Instructor – Digital Forensic Science

Defiance College is seeking candidates for part-time instructors for two Digital Forensic Science courses. The first course is Information Security Fundamentals, an introduction to the fundamentals information security, current best practices and applicable regulations. The second course is Intrusion Detection, which will introduce students to the various methods used to detect external and internal intrusion of computer systems. Responsibilities include lecture and hands-on exercises as appropriate for the topic, measuring and evaluating student progress, and assessment of learning outcomes. Candidates must have a master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, and 3 or more years’ practical experience working in the information security field. Teacher Education Clinical Supervisors

The Defiance College Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher education students participating in practicum experiences and internships during the academic year. Our Licensure areas include Early and Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent and Young Adult (core content areas), Intervention Specialist Mild-to-Moderate (K-12), and Health and Physical Education (K-12). Clinical Supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus. Additionally, Clinical Supervisors of Interns are required to attend a weekly seminar with their supervisees.

Requirements include a master’s degree in education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the HCAC, seeks an individual to serve as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country programs. The individual will provide organization and leadership for all phases of these programs and responsibilities will include recruiting, meet preparation, practice organization, fund raising, mentoring of student-athletes, and developing annual service/engagement projects .

A bachelor’s degree, previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, and a valid driver’s license are required. A master’s degree, USATF or USTFCCCA coaching education certification, and ability to coach multi-events preferred.
