DEFIANCE, Ohio – For current or aspiring coaches, Defiance College offers a sport coaching concentration in its Master of Arts in Education program.  The concentration is designed for individuals who may be head or assistant coaches at schools and colleges, athletic trainers and teachers, and community leaders providing healthy, safe, fair and developmentally appropriate sport delivery.

Participants are guided in independent research on topics that support their specific interests and involvement in sport, such as athletic training, coaching, administration or teaching.

The concentration focuses on research-based exploration of major threads of study that provide a deeper understanding of sport coaching. Topics include leadership, social issues, administration and management, sport science, physiology and psychology.

Persons interested in Defiance College’s sport coaching concentration should be eligible for admission into the Master of Arts in Education program.
