DC Student recognized for Accounting Achievements

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College senior Alex Schomaeker was one of 14 area students who received recognition at the annual Financial Executives International (FEI) Toledo Chapter Student Awards Night held recently in Toledo. Schomaeker was recognized for his accomplishments as being an outstanding accounting student.

Schomaeker is a senior majoring in accounting. He is a member of the Presidential Achievement Society, baseball team, and serves as the chief financial officer of the DC student-run nonprofit Project 701.

The Financial Executives International is a professional organization for senior financial executives, which represents more than15,000 individuals worldwide. To qualify for the annual award, an accounting or finance student must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement and intellectual honesty, and a high promise for a successful career in business.
