How do I access online Transcript Ordering?
Current students may access an unofficial copy of their transcript by logging into their myDC Portal account.
All current students and alumni may access online transcript ordering at Parchment Exchange, transcript ordering site.

How do I order an official transcript if I do not have a major credit card?
Email email@example.com for a transcript request form. Payment must be received before transcripts will be sent.
Forms must be received in the Registrar’s Office by noon in order to send transcript through overnight delivery.
Can someone else order my transcript?
All academic records released by Defiance College are released in accordance with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 and subsequent amendments. The online transcript ordering process will provide you with a consent form before your order is forwarded on to us for processing. How will I know if there is a problem processing my online order?
Online ordering offers the added benefit of email notification when the order is placed, when it is in process with us, and when it has been sent. Online ordering also allows for email notification of any holds preventing release of your transcript, or our inability to locate your record. If a hold prevents release, or if we are unable to locate your record, you will receive an email with information on whom to contact for assistance. Online orders can be tracked by accessing your account on Parchment Exchange and checking your order status.
Is there a fee for an official transcript?
Yes. Starting at $7.50 per record for all official transcripts with a Standard Mail fee of $2.50. FedEx Overnight and International shipping is available for an additional shipping cost.
Do you offer ‘rush’ mail service?
We do offer a FedEx Overnight option for transcripts ordered online only, barring a hold on your record or inability to locate your record, your transcript will be sent within 1 - 2 business days of our receipt of your order. The cost for this service is an additional $25.00 shipping fee.
Can you send my transcripts immediately?
Transcripts ordered online through Parchment Exchange will be mailed via Standard USPS mail, generally within 3 - 5 business days of the College’s receipt and processing of your order. During peak periods, such as the beginning and end of term (December, January, May, August), additional time must be allowed to process transcript orders. Transcript orders are not processed on days when Defiance College is closed.
How soon after I order my transcript can I pick it up?
Transcripts ordered online through Parchment Exchange will be available for pick up within 3 - 5 business days unless we are in a peak processing period. Transcripts may be picked up at the Office of the Registrar, 204 E Serrick Center.
Photo identification is required in order to pick up a transcript. If you send someone to pick up the transcript for you, they must provide a letter from you with your signature giving them permission by name to pick up your transcript. They must also present photo identification to receive the transcript. Please visit our website for office hours.
Can you fax my transcript?
Once your transcript request is received in our office, the transcript will be faxed to the fax number indicated on your order. Please note: Faxing transcripts is an insecure method of delivery as one is uncertain who is ultimately receiving the fax. Faxed transcripts are always considered unofficial transcripts.
How do I request that my transcript be placed in a signed/sealed envelope?
All official transcripts are placed in signed/sealed envelopes so no special request is necessary.
Can I order my official transcript before the semester ends and request not to have it sent until my final semester grades are posted?
Yes. When ordering your transcript at Parchment, you may select the following processing time: Hold for Grades.
Very Important: First semester students will not have in-progress work displayed on the Defiance College transcript until October.
If I am graduating, can I order my final transcript before graduation?
Yes. When ordering your transcript at Parchment, you may select the following processing time: Hold for Degree.
Final transcripts displaying your awarded degree will be available as soon as your degree has been posted to your record. On average this will be within 7 business days of the graduation ceremony. We strongly recommend that you wait until you know your degree has been awarded before ordering your final official transcript.
Can I order my undergraduate and graduate transcripts separately?
No. Official transcripts are a complete record of your entire enrollment at Defiance College and include all work taken at DC as well as any work transferred into DC.
Can I order an unofficial transcript?
Only current students may access and print an unofficial transcript through their myDC Portal account. All transcripts issued by the Office of the Registrar are considered “Official” and are printed on special security paper, embossed with the official Defiance College seal, and envelope signed with the Registrar’s signature.

How can I request a transcript without using online transcript ordering?
We strongly encourage and recommend that you use online Transcript Ordering. If, however, you are unable to do so, you may email the Registrar’s Office for a special circumstance request form at email@example.com. This form must be mailed, faxed, or attached to an email. Payment can be called into the office at 419-783-2375 or included on the portion of the form. The payment portion is removed and shredded upon processing of the record.
