The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree was developed at Defiance College in response to the community identifying the need for baccalaureate prepared nurses. The first track is a 1+2+1 program in partnership with Northwest State Community College, while the second track is for registered nurses who wish to pursue their BSN. Both offer expanded career options for persons in the nursing field by combining technical aspects of nursing with the leadership skills necessary in today’s dynamic healthcare environment.
Working closely with faculty, students develop critical-thinking and decision-making skills to function effectively in interpersonal and group situations. Graduates will be prepared to provide culturally-competent, quality health care by understanding and responding to the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
