Break Housing

Residence halls will close on Saturday, March 2, at noon for Spring Break and will re-open Sunday, March 10, at 10:00 a.m. As students leave for break, they are asked to do the following tasks:

  • Turn off alarm clocks
  • Unplug all appliances (no refrigerators for this break)
  • Clean room
  • Take out trash
  • Close and lock windows
  • Close blinds
  • Turn off all lights
  • Close and lock door

Students will be given a check-out form re-stating all these tasks. Students are asked to sign the form, stating that the tasks have been completed. The last resident to leave is responsible for giving the form to their RA or taping it to the door knob of their room. The RAs will inspect the room during break for fire safety and that residents have properly checked out. Fines will be assessed for students who do not check-out properly.

If you need to remain on campus during the Spring Break, you must complete the Break Occupancy Agreement (available starting Wednesday, February 20, 2019, on the Student life bulletin board next to Hubbard 126) and turn it into the Office of Residence Life no later than Wednesday, February 27, by noon.

Residents requesting to stay in the residence halls must meet the following criteria:

  1. In-season athlete: athletes must fill out their own paperwork to stay. Your coaches will not do this for you.
  2. All other residents that do not meet the criteria listed above but have a need to stay on campus during break will be granted approval at the discretion of the Director of Residence Life.

Unapproved residents found in the halls during the break will be required to leave immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation.
